Artistic Direction - Hans Leenders

Hans Leenders is artistic director of Cantartrix and  Studium Chorale, artistic advisor of the Dutch Gregorian Chant festival, the Chorbiennale Aachen and the festival l’Europe & l’Orgue. 

He is a principal teacher for organ and music history at the Maastricht Conservatory and teaches gregorian chant at the Folkwang-University of Arts in Essen (Germany) during summer-courses. Hans Leenders is the principal organist of the Basilica of our Lady in Maastricht (Séverin 1652, Müseler 1765?) and organist-titulair in the Kopermolen in Vaals (Hilgers 1765). Guestconductor with Radio-choir Slovenia, Groot Omroepkoor, Cappella Amsterdam, Europa Cantat and several conservatories in Europe. Orchestralproductions with Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Symfonieorkest Vlaanderen, Florilegium Musicum and Ensemble ’88 (specialised in contemporary music). As a composer he is known especially for his vocal music, editions by Ascolta, Harmonia and De Haske.

Tussen Bandoeng, Dublin, Bilbao en Yokohama stond op de deelnemerslijst in het Italiaanse Arezzo ook Dokkum en het bijbehorende koor Cantatrix genoemd.
